Grants for Environmental Studies

Students who are studying Environmental Science obviously care deeply about their country and the planet. Keeping that in mind, there are many Government organizations and private organizations that award many grants and scholarships to encourage their studies. An Environmental Science student desires a career in the field of Wildlife Conservation, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Natural Resource Conservation, Forestry, and Environmental Law and Policy.

There are many Environmental College Grants available from the Federal Government. Some of these include:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – EPA is the federal department established to handle the effects on environment by big companies and industries. Another objective of this EPA is to educate the public to keep their environment safe. EPA believes that by encouraging the students to study about environmental sciences, the country can be saved from the natural disaster. So, EPA is awarding many grants to the students who are studying environmental science. The students can also find their career in EPA; they do the field work with EPA or can do the research works to develop the environment.

The EPA’s Office of Environmental Education – The main aim of this grant is to create an interest among the environmental science students to continue their career in environmental management and environmental policy.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) – This grant is awarded to the minority colleges to support the environmental education. To obtain this scholarship, studying an environmental science degree alone is not enough. The students must do the research works on NOAA missions and goals. It is awarded to the undergraduate students who are studying environmental science.

“AmeriCorps” is an excellent opportunity for the students who are unable to pay their college fees from the beginning. They are a Government funded community service organization where students can join the organization and serve one or two years. By doing so, students can become eligible for and obtain the scholarships needed to complete their studies.

The Environmental College Grants from Universities also provides many scholarship opportunities. If you want to study Environmental Science, there is no need to spend hundreds of hours searching for these scholarships. Grants for Environmental Science students are also given by universities and the colleges. Undergraduate students, especially female and minority students can easily obtain these grants. Willamette University in Oregon administrates some environmental scholarships and grants for both UG and PG students. The students from Willamette University can work in Green Corps. They will be doing the environmental works all around the globe. By doing so, they get money to pursue their studies.

Connecticut College’s Environmental Studies – This College is offering a grant program for environmental science students. It is one of the best programs to award the grants for smaller colleges.

There are many private organizations that provide Environmental college grants. Students who are continuing their career in an Environmental Science field can get many grants from private organizations. If you want to obtain an environmental college grant from private organizations, you have to look for them in Environmental Science businesses as they may be able to give many scholarship programs students. The Morris Udall Foundation – This organization is providing two types of college grants for the students who are studying environmental science. The first one is for undergraduate students who are enrolled in a general degree program. And the second one is for the graduate students who are working and focusing on environmental policy.

Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation (WWNFF) – WWNFF is having partnership with many universities. They are Yale University, Duke University, University of Montana, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, Cornell, Florida A&M, University of California-Santa Barbara and Northern Arizona University. The students from these universities are eligible to get this grant.

There are many opportunities for students wishing to pursue a degree in Environmental Sciences. Once a student has located those grants and scholarships they can begin the process of applying for them and their college education can virtually be paid for.
